Homework for October 27

Read chapters 14 & 15.

Type your answers to the following questions and bring them to class for discussion. Your answers should be 3-5 sentences.

Do the mass media elevate cultural sensitivity? Think about the different media content discussed in chapter 14 to answer this question.

Will consumers benefit as much as advertisers from the newest audience tracking technology? Explain your answer.

Homework - DUE October, 20th

  • Read chapters 12 Public Relations and 13 Advertising
  • Write a one page, typed paper using the "Dig Deeper" media literacy criteria on page 324 to analyze a 30 minute television program.
  • You may choose any television program (as long as the material is appropriate for a classroom discussion...nothing distasteful or offensive).
